We had our final Christmas party of the year, last night at my Grandma’s. We had ham, chili, and vegetable soup. For dessert there was blueberry pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and some kind of dessert made with Oreo crumbs. It was really good. For entertainment, we watched Pleasantville and 50 First Dates.
Since it’s the [...]

The office is a mess. They’re putting tile down in the lobby, and they’ve moved all the stuff back here. It’s a little claustrophobic. Hardly anywhere to move. There’s a neat echoing sound up front, though.
This is the day I have to work that split shift. On a Friday. Oh, joy. I’m hoping it won’t [...]

One of the gifts I received for Christmas was a copy of 100 Greatest Comics Booksby Jerry Weist. The list was compiled with help from numerous comics-type people including Jerry Bails, Jim Steranko, and Maggie Thompson among others. As you can imagine (and as is pointed out in the introduction) the list is highly subjective. [...]

I’m trying extremely hard not to get my hopes up…
I was feeling bummed last night, because it was getting late and I hadn’t heard from Nathan. Finally, his mom called. He received all the gifts we sent and had already taken about 40 pictures on his new digital camera.
The best news… instead of ME going [...]

My family is having one of our Christmas celebrations tomorrow. We’re having another one on the 30th, which I have requested off for. Which means I will have to work a split shift: working 3rd and then coming back in for 2nd.
Oh, boy.
Hopefully, we will do something on Christmas Day. I’m off and it would [...]

I had another sleep paralysis event the other night. This one wasn’t TOO bad, but it was pretty vivid.
I was having these weird, vivid dreams all night long; and I would wake up a little after each one. They included:
one of my step-brothers had crapped on their bed. I shared the room with them and [...]

We had our employee Christmas party today. There was lots of food. I almost regretted eating those Bubba burgers the night before, because I was still full. We had turkey, ham, biscuits, green bean casserole, lima beans, potato salad, green beans, baked beans, and various cakes, pies, and puddings for dessert. I brought a caramel [...]

I think I might actually do some cooking next week. I bought these “burgers-in-a-box” at Wal-mart. They’re called Bubba Burgers. They sound pretty good. They’re only 1/3 lb., though. There are six in a box, so it should be enough. I got the jalapeno kind. I wanted the sweet onion, but I couldn’t find them. [...]
